All Saints Servers' Guild

We currently have around 25 members, whose task it is to assist the clergy in the smooth running of services by serving at the altar, primarily for Holy Communion and Sung Eucharist services, and when there is a Choral Evensong on Sunday evenings.

Our group consists of adults and youths of both sexes. Sadly there are currently no smaller children who are learning to serve. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated band of volunteers.

Serving is carried out on a rota basis covering the 8.00am Holy Communion service [1 server], the 9.15am Sung Eucharist [5 servers] Sunday by Sunday, and 6.00pm Choral Evensong [3 or 4 servers]. We also serve for special occasions [eg. Civic Services, Remembrance Day] and on infrequent occasions for funerals. On average we reckon to serve at least twice a month.

We are always ready to welcome new members to the team. Training is given and we have very occasional meetings when we all gather together - generally on a Sunday afternoon. Serving is an enjoyable, rewarding and important occupation which requires dedication, punctuality and neat appearance.

If you would like to know more about the duties of a Server please speak to a member of the team.
